Stop Self-Sabotage

Do you find yourself self-sabotaging?

Doing (or not doing) something that keeps you from accomplishing your goal or getting to where you want to be.

Maybe you can think of something right off the back that you do. This is where I often hear my clients saying something that sounds like, “I know what I need to do… I’m just not doing it.”

Self-sabotage is protective. We’re not doing the thing we want to do (or doing things that keep us stuck) because often the thing we want to do doesn’t feel safe or comfortable. It’s outside of our comfort zone. And that feels scary.

So we consciously… or unconsciously… keep ourselves from going there.

One of the biggest and most common forms of self-sabotage that I see with my clients is PERFECTION.

It looks like, “I missed a day (or week, or month) of exercise, so I’m a failure.”

Or… “I overate, so I’m a failure.”

You see the common factor here… not doing what you wanted (or doing what you didn’t want to do)… and making it mean that you’re a failure.

This “all or nothing”, perfectionist thinking is a form of self-sabotage. And it is the number one thing I see that keeps women stuck.

So here’s what I want you to see… I want you to notice when you’re doing this. When you’re going to the “all or nothing” and making any form of “failure” mean that YOU’RE a failure. And catch yourself here.

When you don’t just accept that “I’m a failure because I missed a day at the gym”, you won’t find yourself falling into self-sabotage.

So ask yourself today, “How am I self-sabotaging? Where is perfectionism keeping me stuck?”
